Chime
Chime is a physical modeling resonator that transforms any audio input into something that feels acoustic and organic. Excite tuned resonators with noise, samples, or live audio — then shape the harmonic structure in real time. The result: sounds that ring, shimmer, and decay like physical objects.

Core Systems
Resonator Engine
Bank of tuned resonators with independent frequency, decay, and coupling. From metallic bells to wooden marimbas to impossible materials.
Excitation Sources
Built-in noise generator, sample player, and live audio input. Each source can be shaped with filters and envelopes before hitting the resonators.
Harmonic Shaping
Control the harmonic series directly. Stretch, compress, or invert partials. Make a string sound like a bell, or a bell sound like glass.
Spectral Freeze
Capture and hold the resonator state at any moment. Freeze a shimmer, then slowly morph it into something new.
Spatial Processing
Built-in reverb and stereo spread tuned for resonant sounds. Place each resonator in the stereo field independently.
Tuning Systems
Equal temperament, just intonation, and custom microtuning. Load Scala files or build tuning tables from scratch.
Three Layers
From first strike to full design.
Play
Strike and listen
Choose an excitation source, select a resonator preset, and play. Touch the surface to excite the model. Immediate, tactile, musical.
Shape
Sculpt the harmonics
Adjust individual resonator frequencies, decay times, and coupling. Route modulation to harmonic parameters. Shape the timbre precisely.
Engineer
Design the model
Full access to the physical model parameters, custom tuning tables, advanced routing, and controller mapping. Build instruments that don't exist yet.
