FAQ

Which AUv3 hosts are supported?+
Our instruments work with any AUv3-compatible host on iOS, iPadOS, and macOS. We test extensively with AUM, Audiobus, GarageBand, Logic Pro, and Cubasis. If your host supports AUv3, our plugins should work.
How do I set up my MIDI controller?+
Connect your controller via USB or Bluetooth MIDI. In any Plastic Factory instrument, long-press a parameter to enter MIDI Learn mode, then move the control you want to assign. The mapping is saved with your preset. For monome grid and arc, the connection is automatic — just plug in and play.
Is there a desktop (Windows) version?+
macOS versions are available for Grainulator and Chime. Windows support is on our roadmap. Join the waitlist to be notified when desktop versions become available.
Can I import my own audio samples?+
Yes. Grainulator accepts WAV, AIFF, MP3, and M4A files. Use the built-in file browser, drag and drop from the Files app, or use AudioShare. Chime can use external audio as an excitation source via its audio input.
How do presets work?+
Each instrument comes with factory presets organized by category. You can save your own presets, export them as files, and share them with other users. Presets store all parameter values, modulation routings, and controller mappings.
What are the three layers?+
Every Plastic Factory instrument has three layers of depth: Play (immediate, essential controls), Shape (expanded parameters and modulation), and Engineer (full access to everything). You can switch between layers at any time — they're views into the same instrument, not separate modes.
Do you offer educational pricing?+
We offer the standard App Store educational discount where available. For institutional licensing or bulk purchases, contact us at hello@plasticfactory.com.
How do I report a bug or request a feature?+
Email support@plasticfactory.com with as much detail as possible. For bugs, include your device model, OS version, host app, and steps to reproduce. We read every message and prioritize fixes based on impact.
